Terms of Business


1. Periods of Hire

Single Day Hire

From 8:30–10am by appointment
Return 7.30pm

Midweek special hire

From Tuesday 8:30–10:00 by appointment
Return Thursday 4:00pm

Standard Weekend

From Saturday 8.30–10am by appointment
Return Sunday pm

Weekend Special

From Friday pm by appointment
Return Monday 1am


2. Mileage, fuel and Distance Limitations

There are no mileage charges

Fuel is to be replaced as used for the end of the hire. If it is deemed that the car is significantly lower in fuel than at pick up we will refuel and charge it to the hirer.

There are no distance limitations but you will find that long journeys in these older cars can be tiring and you should plan accordingly!

4. Booking and cancellation

At the point of Booking we require a deposit of 30% of the hire charge or minimum £100. The balance is due by credit/debit card on arrival.

Cancellation within 7 days of the booking will forfeit the deposit.

Cancellation within 7 and 30 days of the hire date then we reserve the right to refund the deposit in voucher form.

Cancellation over 30 days from hire date then we will refund all deposit monies.

We reserve the right to cancel the hire for any other reason. We will give you as much notice as possible and will offer an alternative vehicle or refund.

We reserve the right to cancel the hire at our discretion due to inclement or dangerous weather conditions.

We reserve the right to cancel the hire if in our belief our vehicle is at risk.


5. Our Charges

Our charges include:

  1. Unlimited mileage
  2. Comprehensive motor insurance
  3. Breakdown cover/ recovery

6. Deposit

We require a deposit as security against the vehicle. This will be in the form of a pre-authorised code on a credit card/debit card. This is a precaution to cover any damage to the vehicle excepting normal wear and tear.

If the vehicle suffers any noticeable damage, this deposit will be used in full and any balance returned upon repair of the vehicle. If required by the hirer, any damage will have an independent professional assessment for the cost of repair - at the expense of the hirer!

Any accident damage to the vehicle by another party in a road traffic accident then the deposit will be returned upon our costs being satisfactory met by the other party's insurer.

The deposit will also be utilised to recover fuel shortfall and any surcharges incurred during the hire of the vehicle.


7. Terms of hire and use

The vehicle must not be used :

And NO SMOKING in our cars.


8. Our expectation of the hirer

Upon accepting the booking and completing the hire agreement form you agree to:

Verification through credit agencies, DVLA and any other source of information provided by the hirer or any other nominated driver.

You will, whilst during the hire, lock the vehicle whilst unattended, and where possible immobilise the engine. The hirer must protect our interests and those of our insurers by not exposing the vehicle to unnecessary danger.

Ensure that only nominated drivers drive the vehicle and that they are fit to drive and not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Any medical condition must be under control with any medication.

Not drive in a reckless manner incurring damage to the vehicle, its occupants or any other party.

To pay any fines and court costs whether they are parking, traffic or other violations incurred by the vehicle whilst under hire to the hirer. We reserve the right to recover any charges from your deposit charged to your card.

If the car is stolen. The hirer must report the theft to us and the police at the first opportunity and obtain a crime number from the police.

In the event of an accident. The hirer must get witness statements, the other driver's details and their vehicle's details. The hirer must admit no liability at the time of the accident and fill out a report form at the first opportunity. Any ensuing legal proceedings and negotiations must be reported to us and our insurers.

To return the vehicle in the same condition as hired at the correct time.


9. Our charges explained

Our fee covers the complete hire of the car. Any other funds recovered from the deposit are charges imposed in the event of damage, insurance surcharges, fuel replenishment and any fines incurred during hire.

If the car is refuelled with the wrong fuel in breach of instructions, a charge will be made to clean the system and to rectify the damage caused.

A late return of the vehicle (by more than an hour) without prior arrangement will incur a surcharge of £50 rising to £100 per hour thereafter.


10. Our position

We will be under no liability for any loss to the hirer or any third party, for any loss of business, profits or any other loss arising from the hirer's ability to use (or inability to use) the vehicle under hire.

The hirer is responsible for their own property whilst hiring the car and we will not be responsible for any loss incurred from the car.

In these terms Reference to the ‘company’,‘we’ ‘us’ or ‘our’ are to this company Wiltshire Classics Ltd and not to any one person individually.


And Finally

We are here to help you have a pleasurable experience. It pays to remember all the cars are around 40 years old and therefore not as robust as a modern car. Be prepared for cars that really accelerate quicker than your modern but take longer to pull up! We ask you to bear this in mind whilst behind the wheel and respect the cars.

They will occasionally go wrong and stop, however they are usually easy to get going again as they are relatively simple cars compared to modern cars. Each car carries a small supply of common spare parts and our breakdown service should easily get you back on the road again. In the event of the unthinkable happening and we can not get you started again, then our breakdown assistance will bring you back to base.
