A British institution and indeed was one of Her Majesty's favourites along with many senior government officials. Launched in 1959 as the P5 in 3 litre saloon form and 1963 in coupe form it was transformed in 1967 when Rover clinched the now famous deal with Buick to use the American manufacturer's all aluminium V8 engine and the P5B was born. It was instantly lighter, faster and more economical and handled better yet still provided that elusive combination of pace with tradition, luxury and style.
Our P5B is finished in admiralty blue with contrasting non standard magnolia roof and is a beautiful example of the marque. It has served as the family car for many years and has seen much service. It has done the London to Brighton classic car run three times, has graced the car parks at Goodwood on many occasions and has done tours of Scotland and Yorkshire and holidays all over the UK. Nicknamed Sir Humphrey after the archetypal civil servant, he has passed the test of time and we hope you will have as much fun as our family has had over the past few years. It burbles very nicely and was probably the best British car of its generation -every journey is an occasion in 'the gentleman's express'.
This classic car would make an ideal anniversary or fathers day present and if you want to go touring add in the kids and head off to Dorset or the South Coast or the West Country. The ideal self drive hire tourer!
